5 Days Delhi Agra Jaipur Tour – Golden Triangle with Hotel Choices

Table of Contents

A 5 days Delhi Agra Jaipur tour brings together three different sides of North India: Delhi’s lively neighbourhoods and monumental history, Agra’s Mughal architecture and Jaipur’s forts, palaces and craft traditions. This private Golden Triangle route is a compact introduction with four hotel nights and several road journeys. It works best with an early arrival in Delhi and a late departure on the final day.

Route: Delhi – Agra – Jaipur – Delhi
Duration: 5 days / 4 nights
Overnights: Delhi 1 night, Agra 1 night, Jaipur 2 nights
Hotel choices: 3-star, 4-star or 5-star, subject to your dates and budget.

Day 1 – Arrival in Delhi, Old Delhi and New Delhi

Your driver meets you at Delhi Airport, railway station or hotel. After settling in, explore the Jama Masjid area and Chandni Chowk. A cycle-rickshaw ride is an enjoyable way to experience the narrow market lanes; a guided food walk can be arranged for travellers interested in local flavours.

Later, drive through the India Gate and government district area, subject to access and traffic. Keep the day flexible: guests arriving late should move some sightseeing to the following morning or add an extra Delhi night. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2 – Delhi Sightseeing and Drive to Agra

After breakfast, visit Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb, allowing time to appreciate the architecture rather than rush through both complexes. Have lunch before the drive to Agra. Allow approximately 3.5–4.5 hours or longer depending on your starting point, traffic and stops.

Check in to your Agra hotel. If daylight and arrival time permit, an optional sunset viewpoint near the Yamuna can be considered. Overnight in Agra.

Day 3 – Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Jaipur

Begin with the Taj Mahal around sunrise, with the exact start adjusted to the season. Soft morning light makes this a rewarding time to see the marble monument and gardens. Return for breakfast, then visit Agra Fort and its palaces and courtyards.

Friday planning: The official Taj Mahal website confirms that the monument is closed to general visitors on Fridays. Your itinerary must be rearranged if Day 3 falls on a Friday.

An optional marble-inlay demonstration can be included if you are interested; shopping is entirely optional. Continue to Jaipur, allowing approximately 4–5 hours or more for the drive. Fatehpur Sikri adds sightseeing time and makes this a longer day, so it should be agreed in advance rather than promised as a quick extra stop. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 4 – Amber Fort, Royal Jaipur and Bazaars

Start with Amber Fort and its hilltop courtyards, gateways and views. Stop for photographs at Jal Mahal beside Man Sagar Lake before continuing to City Palace. After lunch, visit Jantar Mantar and see Hawa Mahal, choosing between an exterior photo stop and a longer visit according to your interests.

Finish with time in Jaipur’s bazaars. Textiles, blue pottery, jewellery and traditional footwear offer a colourful introduction to local crafts. A block-printing workshop or Rajasthani dinner with cultural entertainment can be added by advance arrangement. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 5 – Jaipur to Delhi and Departure

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Delhi. Allow approximately 5–6 hours or more, plus a generous traffic buffer and your airline’s required check-in time. A late evening flight is more practical for this route. For an early departure, travel to Delhi the previous day and add an overnight stay, or consider departure from Jaipur.

Choosing 3-Star, 4-Star or 5-Star Hotels

CategoryWhat to expect
3-starComfortable city hotels with breakfast, selected for practical locations and value.
4-starUpgraded rooms and facilities, a useful balance of comfort and budget.
5-starLuxury city, heritage or international-brand properties, with room category and meal plan specified in the quotation.

Your proposal will name the hotels in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur before booking. Availability, room type and final inclusions depend on travel dates. A category alone does not guarantee a particular property or facility.

Activities, Seasons and Festivals

Popular additions include an Old Delhi rickshaw ride, guided food walk, Agra craft visit and Jaipur block-printing experience. October to March is generally comfortable for sightseeing. Hotter months suit early starts and midday breaks; monsoon conditions can change outdoor plans.

Diwali and Holi offer memorable seasonal experiences, while the Jaipur Literature Festival and Delhi’s Republic Day events can affect demand, access and traffic. Check the actual event dates before making travel arrangements and book hotels early for peak periods.

Tour Extensions

Add wildlife time with an eight-day Golden Triangle and Ranthambore itinerary, extend into Rajasthan, or continue to Khajuraho and Varanasi. An extra Delhi night is also useful if you prefer a slower introduction.
