Day 1 – Arrival in Varanasi & Evening Ganga Aarti

Arrive in Varanasi, the spiritual capital of India, and check into your hotel. Begin your journey by visiting famous temples such as Bharat Mata Mandir, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, and the new Vishwanath Temple inside Banaras Hindu University. In the evening, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, where priests chant, ring bells, and wave lamps in devotion to the sacred river.

Day 2 – Sarnath Excursion

After breakfast, head to Sarnath, the place where Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment. Walk around the Dhamekh Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, and the ruins of monasteries where monks once studied. At the Archaeological Museum, see the famous Ashoka Lion Capital, which is now India’s national emblem. The peaceful surroundings make it a truly spiritual experience.

Day 3 – Journey to Bodhgaya

After breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya (6–7 hrs). This is the most sacred place in Buddhism, where Prince Siddhartha meditated under the Bodhi Tree and became the Buddha. In the evening, take part in prayers at the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can also spend time in meditation near the Bodhi Tree where enlightenment was attained.

Day 4 – Bodhgaya – Rajgir – Nalanda – Patna

Today, drive through Rajgir, a place surrounded by green hills. Here, Buddha meditated on Vulture’s Peak, and the first Buddhist Council was held. Continue to Nalanda, one of the world’s oldest universities, where thousands of monks once studied philosophy and meditation. Explore the red brick ruins, temples, and the museum before heading to Patna for the night.

Day 5 – Patna – Vaishali – Kushinagar

After breakfast, travel to Vaishali, an important Buddhist site where Buddha gave his last sermon and announced his approaching nirvana. Then continue to Kushinagar, the place where Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. Visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple, which houses a serene reclining Buddha statue, and the Rambhar Stupa, marking the cremation site of the Buddha. The calm atmosphere here invites deep reflection.

Day 6 – Kushinagar – Lumbini (Nepal)

Cross the border into Nepal and reach Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Visit the Mayadevi Temple, which marks the exact spot where Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Prince Siddhartha. Walk through the monastic complex, where monasteries from different Buddhist traditions including Thai, Tibetan, Japanese, and others create a truly international spiritual environment.

Day 7 – Lumbini – Sravasti

Day 9 – Explore Delhi

Discover the beauty of India’s capital with a guided city tour. Visit Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, walk through the busy lanes of Chandni Chowk, and pay respects at Rajghat, Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial. Explore Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Drive past India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan, symbols of modern India.
